This project is a fork of the original W3C/WAI Web Accessibility Tutorials which can be found under this address: https://w3.org/WAI/tutorials/
Why was this project forked?
The Web Accessibility Tutorials were developed as part of an EU funded W3C project. Upon publication, the tutorials were widely regarded as a premier and easy to understand resource for accessibility practitioners.
However, without continued funding and care, the tutorials fell into disrepair. As the original editor, this broke my heart. I wanted to link to them but they felt more and more out of touch with how standards and practices changed.
Despite several pull requests by an enthusiastic community and other open issues, the project seemed abandoned through 2021.
This fork exists to provide a point to link to that includes fixes and clarifications. The structure has been kept so far. It should allow merging into the main project, should W3C/WAI want to do that.
